A DAD'S love for his newly born son was shared by hundreds of Kilkenny men and women at a moving presentation ceremony in Kilkenny last night.

Celebrating a brilliant double, a successful local businessman dedicated the achievement to his four day old son Isaac.

It was an emotional evening for Donagh Sheridan of Sheridan Insurances at the Kilkenny Chamber Business Awards in Lyrath Estate where the thriving Danville Park business scooped the overall award and the category prize for the customer excellence service provider of the year.

Accepting the AccBank overall trophy, the doting dad said it had been a wonderful week for himself and his wife Suzanne. Baby Isaac is the couple's first child.

And within minutes, Mr Sheridan was texting the good news to his wife in her hospital bed. Mother and baby are doing fine and are due to be discharged to their Thomastown home tomorrow, Monday.

Donagh Sheridan runs the Sheridan family insurance business with his  brother Ciaran. The business was founded in 1964 and has been operating in Kilkenny for almost 11 years.

The business is divided into three distinct divisions - personal insurance, business insurance and financial services.

"But our philosophy is uniform across all divisions - to provide our customers with a level of service they will not receive from a direct insurer," Donagh Sheridan told Kilkenny Alive.

"Each client is assigned a qualified personal advisor who is their point of contact from quote to claim. This advisor will look after all their insurance needs within their division."
